Job Description

General Summary: Under the general supervision of the Executive Medical Director and Executive Director, is responsible for oversight and management of PACN Medical clinical services, including client assessment, medical interventions as directed, recording keeping and chart review.

Essential Functions:
• Provides oversight of development of quality assurance including the establishment and annual review of all medical policies and procedures
• Provides written orders for the administration of medical services
• Provides patient pregnancy counseling, education, and referrals
• Documents clinical finding, observations, and medical care in patient records
• Performs client testing pre protocol and proper collection procedures
• Reviews and signs all ultrasound reports
• Reviews all physical exam and lab reports
• Administers medication per protocol
• Notifies all mandatory disease-reporting agencies as required by law
• Takes personal responsibility for ensuring knowledge of pertinent diseases, procedures and treatments are current and correct
• With proper certification performs non-diagnostic ultrasounds
• Notifies clients and maintains proper records of positive results per protocol
• Prescribes medications for positive results
• Provides on-call consultation for medical staff for client assessments, questions, or medical emergencies
• Complies with state and professional continuing education requirements
• Maintains current CPR certification, reviews center policies and procedures, infection control regulations, and safety procedures
• Assists with recruitment and selection of medical staff
• Ensures that at least one physician on staff has hospital admitting privileges
• Ensures medical personnel adhere to professional standards of care and state/federal regulations
• Provides oversight for chart audits and input to medical staff peer review
• Provides subject matter consulting and speaking to schools and community organizations as requested

Skills Required

• Must be Advance Practice Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Texas
• Must be a board certified Advanced Practice Nurse holding national certification from a governing body
• At least three (3) years progressively more responsible experience in a clinic setting preferred
• Training in gynecology or obstetrics, ultrasound equipment, and clinic management
• Experience, with progressive responsibility levels in diagnosis, and treatment
• Good counseling skills
• Analytical ability to participate in development of policies and procedures, formulate clinic goals, provide good medical oversight, and evaluate staff needs and quality of medical services
• Excellent communication skills to relate to all levels of medical/professional community, general public, and clients and families
• Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
