SPRING, Texas -- First Choice Emergency Room is proud to announce it has been named a 2013 Guardian of Excellence Award winner by Press Ganey Associates, Inc. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing facilities that consistently achieve the 95th percentile of performance in patient satisfaction.

“We are honored that our patients rated First Choice Emergency Room among the best in the nation. The recognition is a clear testament to our physicians and clinical staff whose sole focus is delivering the highest quality care to our patients,” stated Thomas S. Hall, President and CEO of First Choice Emergency Room.

First Choice Emergency Room facilities offer a unique operating model enabling the staff to provide personalized care for emergency patients through a smaller, freestanding emergency room setup. The additional access point for emergency care in local communities also helps relieve the overburdened healthcare system. With this model, patients are able to have one-on-one time with board-certified physicians, emergency trained registered nurses and radiology technologists to comfortably and efficiently resolve the emergent need.

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a health care industry symbol of achievement. Fewer than five percent of all Press Ganey clients reach this threshold and consistently maintain it for the one year reporting period. Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.

"We are proud to partner with First Choice Emergency Room,” said Patrick T. Ryan, CEO of Press Ganey. “Achieving this level of excellence reflects the organization’s commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality. First Choice Emergency Room’s efforts benefit patients in Texas and Colorado and will lead to improved patient experiences."
