SPRING, Texas -- Emily Graham, D.D.S. was named the Freedom Day USA state director for Texas. As the state representative, Dr. Graham will lead the state-wide campaign for Freedom Day USA on September 11, 2014.

Freedom Day USA is a national thank you movement for members of our military, their immediate families and veterans. The premise behind Freedom Day USA is for businesses across our nation and state to unite to show their appreciation to members of our armed services, their families and our veterans by providing a “Day of Free.” Military members and their families have endured hardships and have made daily sacrifices that most Americans cannot imagine. To show gratitude, businesses provide free services, goods and products as a way to honor the sacrifices, service and freedoms which these men and women have provided us.

Dr. Graham said, “It is such an honor to be named Texas state director for Freedom Day USA and work with my colleagues from across the state on such a worthwhile cause.” As state director, Dr. Graham is asking dentists across Texas to join together to show their appreciation to the members of our armed services by providing free dental care to military personnel, veterans and their families. “I feel blessed to be able to support our community and our military and hope that others do too,” said Graham.

Dr. Graham is no stranger to providing complimentary dental care to those in need. She participated in the first annual Freedom Day on Sept. 12, 2013, helping more than 60 military heroes. Additionally, she spearheaded her Unto the Lord Day for the past six years, serving people of all ages by performing services ranging from basic cleanings to tooth extractions, all for free. Dr. Graham has also participated in numerous mission trips to Central and South America to treat underprivileged children.

This national event was founded in 2013 by Dr. Robert Martino, owner of Wilson Martino Dental, West Virginia’s largest dental organization and built upon by the members of The Platinum Circle, a group of elite dentists who practice throughout our country. “Our men and women of the armed forces make great personal sacrifices in order to secure and protect our freedoms,” said Dr. Martino.

The annual event is held on the second Tuesday of September each year.

Dr. Graham’s practice, located in Spring, provides general and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Graham, who has been practicing dentistry for the past 20 years, received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas and was the recipient of the Texas Dental Association’s prestigious New Dental Leadership Award in 2000. Dr. Graham is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and is actively involved in the Texas Dental Association.
