Storm damage in Spring may have been a tornado
SPRING, Texas - Spring residents believe a tornado may have touched down during Tuesday's afternoon storm. Debris was seen rotating in the air, and strong winds uprooted trees. Other damage occurred in the vicinity of Rayford Road and Spring Forest.
“My power was out for nine hours,” said Dave Pittman, owner and licensed massage therapist at The Healing Tree in Spring, on West Hawthorne just south of Rayford Road.
The storm moved through South Montgomery County at approximately 1:00 p.m., and Pittman posted on his Facebook page at 9:15 p.m., that the power had just been restored 15 minutes earlier.
Falling trees and flying debris was attributed to downing power lines and interrupting electrical service. Spring appears to have been the hardest hit by the storm that had winds moving at 40 mph, heavy rain and hail.
